Woot.com is seeking a Software Development Manager to combine deep technical expertise with exceptional people leadership to drive innovation in our customer-facing platforms.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow a high-performing engineering team through effective hiring, mentoring, performance management, and skills development while fostering an inclusive culture of engineering excellence and innovation
• Drive the architecture, design, implementation, and delivery of scalable software systems that power the primary customer experience for Woot.com, from marketing integrations to checkout flows
• Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to define your team's vision, roadmap, and strategic priorities by working backwards from customer needs and balancing tactical execution with long-term goals
• Establish team structures, processes, and mechanisms that enable rapid delivery while maintaining the highest standards for code quality, system health, security, and operational excellence
• Jump into technical discussions and code when necessary, leveraging your strong software engineering background and AI proficiency to unblock your team and drive critical decisions

Qualifications

• 3+ years of engineering team management experience
• 7+ years of working directly within engineering teams experience
• 3+ years of designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
• 8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi-tier web services experience
• Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations
• Experience partnering with product or program management teams
