Manager - Human Resources, KBA Brownwood Plant

About the Role

The Manager-Human Resources, Brownwood is responsible for directing the administration, planning, and coordination of the plant Human Resources function. This position supports the plant through HR expertise and strategic leadership, linking HR activities to the success and strength of the organization. The role provides expert support in all HR functions, including organizational development, recruitment and selection, performance management, and labor relations.

As a business partner with management and stakeholders, this role ensures HR strategies align with plant and organizational goals. The Manager-Human Resources acts as a consultant on HR processes, employment law, employee relations, and union avoidance, while ensuring sound employee policies are developed, communicated, and implemented.

Responsibilities

• Provide ongoing advice and coaching to management on associate performance and HR issues.
• Consult on individual HR matters, including performance problems, terminations, promotions, job creation, job descriptions, cross-training, and wage/benefit compliance.
• Assist front-line management in fostering a positive, receptive environment where employees feel valued.
• Promote and support workplace experience teams at the plant level to enhance morale and position the company as an employer of choice.
• Participate in the selection of plant personnel at all levels, including interviewing exempt and administrative non-exempt applicants.
• Oversee recruitment and selection of factory non-exempt employees in partnership with the Center of Excellence (COE).
• Develop methods for analyzing and balancing HR needs and costs, identifying cost-saving opportunities through efficiencies and technology.
• Drive performance management initiatives, including talent development and the use of tools such as Caliper, HMM, job family competencies, and assessments.
• Actively coach plant management to create an environment of accountability and strategic decision-making.
• Develop a learning organization that continually improves and addresses talent gaps to support corporate growth.
• Manage succession planning and the consensus process for the plant.
• Utilize HR metrics to proactively address issues like turnover and absenteeism, establishing key tracking with historical data.
• Coordinate internal employee transfers for promotions, upgrades, medical reasons, lay-offs, and personal requests.
• Counsel, discipline, and discharge employees in accordance with company policy.
• Advise supervision and employees on policy interpretation and procedures.
• Review Unemployment Compensation Claims and represent the company at hearings to minimize claims.
• Represent the company at community events, meetings, and programs to promote good employee and community relations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 5+ years of experience in Human Resources.
• 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Global experience and SPHR certification preferred.
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without requiring sponsorship now or in the future.

Pay

The salary range for this position is $103,900 - $160,000. The specific salary offered may vary based on factors such as experience, education, and work location. This position is also eligible for performance-based bonus or variable incentive compensation.
