About the role

The Manager, Human Resources Business Partner – North America is a critical position linking our people and talent strategies with business success. This management role is responsible for all human resources needs for corporate teams in North America, playing an instrumental role in project and communication alignment between global and regional teams.

The Manager, HRBP will focus on developing and delivering human capital strategy, consulting with business leaders to drive people aspects of business performance, strategizing workforce planning, leveraging people analytics, and acting as a coach and advisor to senior business leaders. This role provides strategic HR guidance and leverages programs and methodologies created by Centers of Expertise.

The ideal candidate must think strategically while being hands-on in overseeing day-to-day execution, with a focus on clients, people, and brand desirability. They will work transparently and collaboratively with both central and local teams, modeling and championing core values: Be Creative & Innovative, Deliver Excellence, and Cultivate an Entrepreneurial Spirit.

Responsibilities

  • Provide HR oversight to develop and implement HR initiatives supporting business success while furthering the global HR mission.
  • Utilize functional expertise to ensure consistent and fair resolution of complex employee relations and benefits situations, including collaboration with specialist resources and legal counsel.
  • Manage organizational risk in the application and implementation of all policies and practices.
  • Focus on external recruitment, balancing short-term and long-term talent planning, onboarding, and diversifying talent levels.
  • Identify strategic positions and ensure talent action plans are in place, balancing internal succession planning, external recruiting, and bench strength assessment.
  • Maximize internal talent through one-on-one conversations, meetings, and tools like talent action plans to ensure clear career paths and ongoing development opportunities.
  • Act as a conduit for communication between key leaders to identify and develop initiatives and projects meeting business needs (e.g., strategic staffing, employee relations, compensation, training, organization redesign, recognition and rewards, bench strength, localizing large-scale corporate projects).
  • Ensure project management alignment between Global and Regional teams, managing HR projects/initiatives in line with business strategy.
  • Assess and improve operational efficiencies of HR processes and procedures.
  • Collaborate with the larger team across North America and Global HR to ensure overall HR team development.
  • Drive quality HR service and support at all levels.
  • Demonstrate depth of knowledge in functional HR areas: employee relations, compensation and benefits, training, organizational design, workforce planning, and strategic staffing/recruitment to influence successful solutions.
  • Identify compensation and benefits trends, shortfalls, and opportunities; work with Global Compensation and Benefits to review data and ensure competitive programs.
  • Conduct local industry compensation analysis through networking and recruiting insights.
  • Challenge innovation around the talent pipeline.

Qualifications

  • BA/BS or relevant work experience.
  • Minimum 7–10 years of HR experience, including HR Generalist experience.
  • Knowledge of Retail or luxury goods preferred.
  • Strong leadership presence and experience managing diverse groups of individuals.
  • Strong consultative, coaching, communication, and influence skills.
  • Demonstrated expertise and proven success in HR service delivery.
  • General business acumen, demonstrated analytical and creative thinking ability.
  • Strong computer skills with MS Office and HRIS.
  • Organized, detail-oriented, with demonstrated project management skills; ability to work independently and handle multiple priorities/projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
  • Preferred: Advanced degree or additional related work experience.
  • Preferred: Industry-specific experience (Retail, Luxury, or multi-brand).
  • Preferred: Experience with HR metrics and creative sourcing/talent pipeline strategies.
