Manager, Human Resources Business Partner
The New York Post is seeking a Manager, Human Resources Business Partner, based in Los Angeles, California.
About the role
This is an important role supporting leaders across the newsroom and commercial functions, helping execute strategies for a fast-moving, high-profile media organization. Reporting to the Human Resources Director, you will partner closely with leaders and employees to support organizational effectiveness, talent management, employee engagement, and culture initiatives. This role requires strong judgment, adaptability, and the ability to operate effectively in a performance driven, deadline-oriented environment. You will bring a practical, solutions-focused mindset and collaborate closely with HR colleagues and corporate partners to ensure alignment, consistency, and application of best practices.
Responsibilities
- Partner with department leaders and employees to align people strategies with the New York Post’s editorial, commercial, and digital priorities.
- Support organizational design efforts, workforce planning, and change initiatives in collaboration with HR leadership.
- Provide guidance on employee engagement, performance management, talent development, and career progression in fast-paced teams.
- Manage and resolve employee relations matters, including investigations, performance concerns, and workplace conflict, with sound judgment and discretion.
- Leverage data and workforce insights to inform decision-making and recommend practical solutions.
- Promote transparent communication and contribute to a culture of accountability, inclusion, and trust.
- Support innovation and process improvements, including adoption of AI tools where appropriate, to enhance team effectiveness.

Qualifications
- 5+ years of progressive HR experience, including 2+ years in an HR Business Partner or equivalent client-facing role.
- Bachelor’s degree in HR, business, psychology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Experience supporting fast-paced teams, including commercial, sales, or editorial/creative environments.
- A strong foundation in employee relations, investigations, and performance management.
- A working knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.
- Demonstrated ability to balance business partnership with employee advocacy.
- Experience operating within a matrixed or complex organization preferred.
- Strong coaching, influencing, and problem-solving skills.
- A data-informed mindset with experience using metrics to guide action.
- The ability to manage sensitive situations with professionalism and discretion.
- A willingness to work on-site in Los Angeles in alignment with a hybrid model.

Benefits
Base Pay Range: $100,000 - $130,000, eligible for bonus. Pay-for-performance is a key element in our strategy to attract, engage, and motivate talented people to do their best work. Accordingly, offers extended for this role will include an annual bonus target typically expressed as a percentage of salary. Similarly to salary, set annual incentive bonus targets are based on a variety of factors including competitive market practice, experience, tenure, and essential skills.
