About the role
The ASSA ABLOY Group is expanding its Commercial Segment and seeks an HR Manager to lead as a strategic HR partner, embedded within the business unit to provide tailored solutions to the Door Controls Facility. The position is based full-time on-site in Monroe, NC and reports to the General Manager.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the HR department, including an HR Business Partner and HR Specialist, across key functional areas such as strategic leadership, organizational development, performance management, compensation, and recruitment.
- Partners with plant leadership and operations teams to implement training, recognition, retention, and employee engagement initiatives.
- Provide fair, consistent, and confidential guidance on employee relations matters and HR policies.
- Support the HR Director in the implementation of organizational change initiatives, processes, and policies.
- Aid the Safety Manager with incident management and OSHA reporting and filings.
- Ensure timely and accurate reporting of safety and HR metrics.
- Prepare and submit accurate and timely responses to the North Carolina Employment Security Commission and Department of Labor, including unemployment claims and notices of discrimination.
- Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders and provide constructive feedback as appropriate.
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with temporary staffing agencies and professional recruitment firms.
- Support recruiting, onboarding, and retention efforts.
- Serve as a trusted and credible HR resource for all employees.
- Manage onboarding processes for newly hired employees.
- Administer the performance management process.
- Manage leaves of absence and the interactive process, ensuring compliance with FMLA and ADA requirements.
- Collaborate with Shared Services to support weekly and bi-weekly payroll processing.
- Maintain current knowledge of North Carolina and federal employment laws and regulations.
- Conduct employee-related investigations in an objective, equitable, and confidential manner.
- Absorb and execute company recognition events and employee celebrations.
- Communicate health insurance open enrollment information and respond to employee benefits inquiries.
- Maintain accurate and complete employee records in accordance with the company’s records retention policy.
- Manage HRIS responsibilities and ensure data accuracy and integrity.
- Produce accurate and timely HR reports.
- Promote and ensure confidentiality across all HR functions.
- Collaborate effectively with HR and Operations teams.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of HR management experience, preferably supporting decentralized functions such as sales or business development.
- Demonstrated success managing HR operations across multiple geographic regions.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
- Proven ability to lead difficult conversations and adapt communication styles to diverse audiences.
- Strategic problem-solving capabilities with a focus on delivering effective, scalable solutions.
- Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- High level of integrity and discretion in handling confidential information.
- Commitment to upholding compliance standards and company values.
- Proficiency in HRIS systems, preferably SuccessFactors.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
