Description

The Manager, HR Operations & Employee Relations is responsible for leading the organization’s Employee Relations and corrective action processes, while providing direct leadership and oversight for core HR Operations functions, including Payroll, Compensation, HRIS, HR Compliance, and related operational functions. This role partners closely with leaders to guide employee relations matters, corrective actions, and workplace investigations, while ensuring consistent application of employee practices in alignment with company policies and applicable laws.

Major Responsibilities/Activities

  • Owns and manages the end-to-end corrective action process, including coaching managers on performance concerns, documentation, consistency, and follow-through.

  • Serves as the central owner of all Employee Relations matters, including investigations, policy violations, and workplace concerns. Conducts prompt, thorough, and impartial investigations, ensuring appropriate documentation and defensible outcomes.

  • Advises managers on employee conduct and performance concerns, risk mitigation, and appropriate corrective actions. Develops and delivers guidance and training to strengthen corrective action practices and documentation.

  • Ensures consistent application of policies and practices across the organization. Identifies trends in corrective action and ER matters and recommends proactive solutions.

  • Provides operational oversight across assigned HR Operations functions, partnering with internal team members and external vendors to ensure effective service delivery, timely resolution of HR issues, and consistent HR support.

  • Ensures HR operational processes are accurate, efficient, and scalable. Partners with HRBPs and HR leadership to ensure alignment and effective execution of people practices.

  • Provides leadership and oversight for payroll operations, ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing, effective controls, issue resolution, and compliance with applicable wage and hour requirements.

  • Provides strategic and operational oversight of the HRIS, including system administration, governance, and continuous improvement, ensuring data accuracy, system integrity, effective workflows, reporting capabilities, and appropriate access controls.

  • Leads, coaches, and develops assigned HR team members, establishing clear expectations, monitoring performance, and promoting accountability, collaboration, and high-quality service.

  • Drives continuous improvement of HR operational processes, identifying opportunities to enhance efficiency, accuracy, compliance, and service quality.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Required Education, Skills, & Experience:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • 5+ years of progressive HR experience, including Employee Relations and HR Operations exposure.
    • Strong Employee Relations background, including independent management of investigations and complex employee situations.
    • Demonstrated ability to coach and influence managers through employee relations, corrective action, and complex employee issues.
    • Experience operating at an HR Manager level or equivalent leadership capacity, including ownership of Employee Relations decisions and corrective action outcomes.
    • Demonstrated experience leading HR Operations functions, including Payroll, Compensation, HRIS, HR Compliance, and related operational processes.
    • Experience managing or supporting cross-functional operational functions and processes.
    • Demonstrated people leadership experience, including setting expectations, coaching and developing team members, managing performance, and promoting accountability.
    • Ability to assess risk and make sound decisions in complex or ambiguous situations.
    • Strong judgment and ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters.
    • Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to guide leaders through complex situations.
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
    • Proficiency in English is necessary for job-related communication, including understanding policies, writing correspondence, and engaging with colleagues or clients.

Pay Range

$110,000 - $120,000 annually, with final compensation based on the candidate’s qualifications, experience, and business needs.
