About the role

SK hynix America is rapidly expanding its AI and advanced technology portfolio and is building several new Tech/AI organizations from the ground up. We are seeking a strategic HR Business Partner at the Manager level to serve as the people architecture lead for this initiative — owning the full journey from organizational design and leadership acquisition through to team stabilization and long-term talent growth.

This is a high-visibility, high-impact role for an HR leader with a builder's mindset. You will be embedded alongside our engineering and AI leadership teams, helping shape new organizations, drive cross-functional alignment between our U.S. and overseas offices, and build the HR infrastructure needed to support next-generation technology teams.

Key Focus Areas

  • Org Build-Out: Design, launch, and stabilize new AI/Tech organizations — from defining org structure and headcount models to establishing team culture and operating rhythms.
  • Leadership Acquisition: Lead executive search and senior-leader onboarding for newly created Tech/AI teams; partner with talent acquisition to develop pipelines for specialized AI and engineering talent.
  • Org Stabilization: Guide newly formed teams through the stabilization phase: establish team norms, resolve early friction, and ensure leaders are set up for sustainable success.
  • Cross-Border Alignment: Serve as the connective tissue between U.S. Tech/AI teams and HQ, driving alignment on people strategy, headcount planning, and organizational change.

Responsibilities

  • Organizational Design & New Team Launch:
    • Design org structures for new AI/Tech teams in partnership with business and technology leaders, including role scoping, leveling frameworks, and reporting hierarchies.
    • Lead workforce planning for newly formed organizations, translating business goals into headcount strategies and hiring roadmaps.
    • Partner closely with Talent Acquisition to drive end-to-end recruiting for senior and specialized AI/engineering roles.
    • Develop onboarding programs for incoming leaders and team members that accelerate integration and productivity.
  • Team Stabilization & People Partnership:
    • Serve as the primary HR advisor to Tech/AI leaders, coaching on organizational effectiveness, people management, and team health.
    • Identify and address early-stage team challenges — culture misalignment, communication gaps, or performance issues — with structured and data-driven approaches.
    • Lead performance management cycles (goal setting, mid-year reviews, year-end calibrations) for supported client groups.
  • Cross-Functional & Global HR Partnership:
    • Act as the bridge between U.S. Tech/AI teams and SK hynix's global HR and corporate functions, ensuring policy alignment and consistent employee experience.
    • Drive company-wide HR programs — talent reviews, compensation planning, engagement surveys — within the AI/Tech organization.
    • Consult with managers and employees on HR policies, employee relations, immigration, compensation, and organizational change.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of progressive HR experience, with at least 3 years as an HRBP supporting engineering, AI, or technology organizations.
  • Demonstrated experience building or significantly scaling new teams or organizations.
  • Track record of partnering with engineering or technical leaders.
  • Strong command of organizational design principles, workforce planning, and talent acquisition strategy.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to influence at all levels including senior leadership.
  • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment and operate across global or matrixed organizations.
  • Ability to travel 10–15% annually.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in the semiconductor, AI hardware, or deep-tech industries.
  • SHRM-SCP, SHRM-CP, or HRCI-SPHR/PHR certification.
  • Background in executive coaching, organizational development, or change management.
