About the Role
The Training Manager – Housekeeping is responsible for teaching new hires the standards and procedures of the Housekeeping department. This role maintains high-quality standards through training programs focused on guest relations, departmental operations, emergency procedures, safety guidelines, and regulations. All duties are performed in accordance with departmental and The Venetian Resort’s policies, practices, and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Conduct new Team Member orientation, including training in HAZCOM, bloodborne pathogens, fire prevention, emergency action programs, personal protective equipment, back injury prevention, preventing slips, trips and falls, and appearance standards.
- Provide guest service and challenge resolution training to enhance the guest experience.
- Deliver periodic and special targeted training to team members to improve performance, ensure compliance, and promote growth within the department.
- Manage the Primo (Introductory follow-up) and Arrivare (Manager onboarding) processes for the Housekeeping department.
- Hold Floor Manager responsibilities when no training is taking place or upon request from senior leadership.
- Manage office team members and organize department functions in accordance with company guidelines.
- Delegate tasks and department assignments or projects, ensuring deadlines are met.
- Focus on achieving departmental goals or objectives using available resources (staff and budgetary).
- Evaluate schedules or timelines related to the completion of assignments while maintaining service and/or product quality.
- Ensure safety is prioritized as an essential function of this role.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- 21 years of age or older.
- Proof of authorization/eligibility to work in the United States.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain any required certification or license as mandated by law or policy.
- At least 2 years of prior experience in hotel operations, preferably in a 4/5 star resort.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office programs, especially Excel.
- Ability to multi-task and communicate effectively with all levels of individuals, including management, team members, and guests.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively across diverse backgrounds and experience levels.
- Must be available to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift or carry 50 pounds unassisted.
- Physically access all areas of the property and drive areas with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Maintain composure under pressure and consistently meet deadlines.
- Ability to interact appropriately and effectively with guests, management, team members, and outside contacts.
- Ability to walk, stand, stretch, bend, and kneel for prolonged periods.
- Work in a fast-paced and busy environment.
- Work indoors and be exposed to environmental factors such as CRT, noise, dust, and cigarette smoke.
