About the role

Cemex US is a leader in the building materials industry, committed to innovation, quality, and operational excellence. This role is responsible for implementing and managing comprehensive Health and Safety programs at assigned sites.

Job Responsibilities

  • Work to instill Zero4Life as the fundamental driver to an injury-free workplace.
  • Identify best practices and develop comprehensive, site-specific Health and Safety policies and procedures.
  • Provide technical advice, coaching, and guidance on Health and Safety training programs.
  • Work with regulatory agencies like DOT, FMCSA, MSHA, OSHA, and others to manage compliance.
  • Assist operations in conducting incident investigations and root cause analysis.
  • Consult and guide management on the return-to-work process for injured employees.
  • Participate in Division Health & Safety Management Systems audits and assist in follow-up actions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Health & Safety or related field.
  • 3 years experience in health and safety management, operations management, or other related positions.
  • Safety certifications (CSP, CIH, CMSP, CDS, etc.) a plus.
  • Experience in dealing with regulatory agencies like DOT, OSHA, and MSHA.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Team-oriented with ability to work independently and as a self-starter.
  • Demonstrated leadership and decision-making ability.
  • Excellent communication skills, including credible communication with large groups of employees, supervisors, and managers.

Working Conditions

  • Continuous exposure to extreme heat, extreme cold, extreme noise, and working outdoors.
  • Must wear protective equipment while at the location.

Physical Requirements

  • Requires walking, sitting, lifting, pushing, pulling, and climbing to a significant degree.
  • Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently.
  • Job involves sitting most of the time, but also involves walking or standing for brief periods of time.
  • Must be able to perform all job functions which include, but may not be limited to, pushing, turning, and/or pulling of controls.
