About the role

As Health and Safety (HS) Manager, you will lead and strategically guide HS activities across our High Purity Quartz (HPQ) operations. Your responsibilities will include driving the implementation of the Sibelco Global HS Program, embedding HS strategy into business operations, influencing and coaching Operational Side Leadership and management, leading risk management, incident investigations, and continuous improvement initiatives, navigating ambiguity, translating complex regulations into practical solutions, and driving performance through data, insights, and a culture of continuous learning and safety ownership.

Responsibilities

  • Drive the implementation of the Sibelco Global HS Program, aligning Global Standards with local realities
  • Partner with Senior Leadership to embed HS strategy into business operations
  • Influence, coach, and mentor Operational Side Leadership and management to elevate safety ownership and accountability
  • Lead risk management, incident investigations, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Navigate ambiguity, translating complex regulations into practical solutions
  • Drive performance through data, insights, and a culture of continuous learning and safety ownership

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering and occupational health & safety, industrial Hygiene, or a related discipline
  • 10+ years of relevant professional experience in Health & Safety leadership roles, preferably in an industrial or mining operational setting
  • MSHA certification preferred
  • Experience working with OHSE is appreciated
  • Strong knowledge of HS legislation, risk management, and operational excellence, preferably with experience working in larger organizations
  • Proven ability to drive transformational change across functions teams with the ability to engage with all levels of employees
  • Proven track record of driving HS strategy, coaching teams, and managing complex or ambiguous situations
  • Able to empower people and implement and guide change/projects
  • Sound communicator with the ability to create buy-in from all levels within the company
  • Proactive with the ability to work independently as well as part of a large team
  • Fluent in English
  • Ability to travel regularly to ensure presence in each of the sites
