Manager, Health Plan National Accounts

The Manager, Health Plan National Accounts is responsible for driving strategic growth and operational excellence across a portfolio of national clients. This role builds and sustains enterprise-level partnerships while advancing innovative solutions that strengthen market leadership and generate new and expanded business opportunities.
Responsibilities
Drive Strategic Growth by creating and executing on unique client strategies aimed at retention and accelerated membership and financial growth.
Inspire Customer Service Excellence by providing visionary leadership and guidance to your team, ensuring seamless delivery and superior client experience.
Lead High-Performing Team by building and empowering top talent through decisive leadership in hiring, development, and performance management. Champion a culture of accountability and compliance while rewarding excellence.
Cultivate Strategic Relationships by forging and sustaining influential partnerships with key clients and advisors. Monitor satisfaction, uncover new opportunities, and leverage market intelligence to drive competitive advantage.

Align Enterprise Strategy by collaborating with internal leaders and cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on client developments and identify strategic initiatives that advance enterprise objectives.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree
- Five (5) years of experience in the health plan industry within national account management, enterprise sales, or healthcare business development.
- Experience managing a successful account management team and meeting team goals.
- Experience partnering with health care consultants.
- Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and negotiation skills.
- Working knowledge of underwriting, product design and funding alternatives related to health and dental insurance.
- Strong computer skills using Microsoft Office products or comparable applications.
- Able to manage multiple project assignments with short deadlines.
- Able to work effectively at all levels of the organization, including senior leadership.
- Minnesota and Wisconsin health and life insurance license (within 3 months of hire).
- Current, valid driver’s license and access to a reliable, insured vehicle.
Qualifications
- Comparable experience within the broader healthcare industry will also be considered.
- Experience partnering with consulting firms (e.g., advisory, healthcare strategy, benefits consulting) to co-develop client solutions, align on strategic initiatives, and support integrated account management.
- Familiarity with HealthPartners and affiliated companies.
