About the role

The Health & Safety Manager is responsible for leading and sustaining the facility’s health and safety programs to ensure regulatory compliance, reduce risk, and protect employees and the environment. This role drives a strong safety culture through proactive leadership, training, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership to promote a strong safety culture across all departments.
  • Manage and maintain site safety programs, including OSHA compliance and reporting.
  • Conduct safety audits, inspections, and hazard assessments (JSAs).
  • Lead accident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
  • Track and report safety metrics, injury data, and compliance activities.
  • Manage workers’ compensation claims and partner with HR on return-to-work programs.
  • Develop and deliver safety training and ensure compliance with required programs (e.g., PPE, LOTO, confined space).
  • Maintain safety documentation including OSHA logs and regulatory records.
  • Serve as liaison with regulatory agencies and support environmental compliance efforts.
  • Support emergency response, crisis management, and process safety programs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in occupational health & safety, Industrial Hygiene, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 3+ years of experience in a safety leadership role, preferably in manufacturing.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety compliance requirements.
  • Experience leading safety programs, audits, and incident investigations.
  • Proven ability to influence, coach, and develop teams.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • OSHA 30-hour certification (or ability to obtain).
  • CPR/First Aid certification.

Work Environment

Manufacturing environment with exposure to varying temperatures, noise, and equipment. Flexibility to support off-shift or weekend needs as required.
