The Manager, Group Sales works closely with the Sr. Director, Sales & Service in implementing tactical and operational plans to achieve targeted levels of revenue, cross-selling, and customer retention. This hands-on role manages an assigned sales team of Account Executives and develops a Group Sales program for other FedExForum events.
Responsibilities
- Manages a team of Account Executives by directing sales activities, setting and reviewing sales targets, coaching, mentoring, recruiting, and training.
- Executes effective corporate and non-corporate sales calls and presentations through the sales team to promote Grizzlies ticket products and meet sales objectives.
- Develops and executes all elements of a group sales program.
- Identifies key partnerships within the community to develop group sales initiatives.
- Works with TicketMaster, Fevo, and other third-party vendors to establish an integrated online approach for group sales.
- Identifies business opportunities by establishing professional and personal networks and proactively soliciting and following up on sales leads.
- Contributes to corporate business objectives by collecting and forwarding sponsorship, advertising, team promotions, and suite leads to department management.
- Recommends solutions to client needs and provides reporting information by maintaining accurate reports on sales, calls, appointments, and account maintenance.
- Upholds sales and service mandates by collaborating with the entire Customer Sales & Service team.
- Works with supervisors to develop sales bonus and commission structures.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sports Management, or a related field from an accredited college or university.
- At least five years of sales or sales management experience at a senior level, including experience leading, coaching, mentoring, and motivating sales and service teams.
- Experience in the development of a group sales program.
- Excellent relationship-building and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact comfortably and effectively with internal and external clients at all levels.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Assertive, confident, persistent, and results-oriented approach to selling and sales management.
- Solid time management skills.
- Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and the internet.
- Must be able to work evenings and weekends as required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Working knowledge of contact management systems and ticketing systems.
- Knowledge of and passion for professional basketball.
