Manager, Government Accounting

About the role

For our client, we are seeking a Manager, Government Accounting to join the team of a leader in the Healthcare space. This role will oversee government accounting processes that support compliance, accurate reporting, and effective cost management within a regulated healthcare environment. You will partner closely with Accounting and audit stakeholders to drive monthly close activities, incurred cost submissions, and overhead rate analysis. The position also supports federal contract audit readiness and contributes to billing rates, forward pricing proposals, and team development.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Accounting team on monthly close activities
• Manage incurred costs reporting and annual submission processes
• Oversee overhead rate reporting and variance analysis
• Support federal audits, including those from the Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA)
• Assist in the preparation and submission of billing rates and forward pricing proposals
• Lead reporting on travel and expenses
• Mentor and develop staff while ensuring timely and accurate reporting

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field
• 5+ years of experience in general ledger review and analysis
• 5+ years of management reporting and overhead rates analysis experience
• 5+ years ensuring compliance with accounting standards and federal regulations
• Hands-on experience in indirect cost management and incurred cost submission
• Proficiency in Microsoft PowerBI, Excel, Teams, and SharePoint
• Experience supporting federal government contract audits

Pay

$117,000 – $130,000 annually
