About the role

Johnson & Johnson is recruiting for a Manager, Global Planning, to join our team in Irvine, CA. An internal pre-identified candidate for consideration has been identified. However, all applications will be considered.

Responsibilities

  • E2E Planning
    • Lead global EP end-to-end planning, including launch planning, inventory planning, and supply network planning for the assigned portfolio.
    • Own monthly finished goods net requirements, EM Supplier IBP, latest estimate (LE), and master production schedule (MPS) processes with internal and external suppliers.
    • Develop planning scenarios to support risk mitigation, trade-off decisions, and cross-functional alignment.
    • Partner with supply chain stakeholders to communicate service risks, actions, and business impacts.
    • Drive improvement in key global KPIs, including forecast accuracy, inventory, SLOB, and customer service.
    • Set and manage annual inventory plans, safety stock levels, inventory tracking, reconciliation, and reduction opportunities.
    • Analyze financial, capacity, and inventory gaps to drive alignment across business functions.
    • Leverage AI-enabled tools and advanced analytics to automate recurring analysis, identify trends and risks, and improve planning insights.
  • IBP / VSM
    • Own the EP Global IBP process, including Executive IBP support, risk/opportunity communication, scenario planning, and decision alignment.
    • Track and align global demand, operations, and financial plans.
    • Identify and drive improvements across IBP, demand, inventory, and network planning processes.
    • Provide leadership to regional and local IBP teams.
    • Partner with GSM to review LRPP and manage Global LRNR.
    • Represent PLAN for VSM and PSR.
    • Build strong partnerships with Marketing, VSM, Manufacturing, Finance, External Operations, NPD, LCM, PM, and Quality to lead cross-functional work.
  • Leadership and Technical Lead
    • Coach and develop supply chain planning analysts to deliver high performance and business contribution.
    • Provide thought leadership, training, and coaching to peers and cross-functional partners.
    • Create and use analytical tools, dashboards, and AI-supported analysis to support issue resolution and execution oversight.
  • DRP management and system inventory reconciliation
    • Lead best practices, close legacy process gaps, and serve as SME for assigned planning projects.
    • Ensure team compliance with Company Health, Safety, and Environmental practices.
    • Ensure personal and Company compliance with applicable regulations, policies, and procedures.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, Information Technology, Logistics, or Operations; Master’s degree or MBA preferred.
  • Minimum 6 years of experience in supply chain, operations, finance, and/or marketing required.
  • Minimum 6 years of experience in E2E planning, inventory, supply network planning, supply planning, and/or materials management required.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Certifications/Licenses

  • Scenario planning and people management experience required.
  • Proven ability to challenge the status quo, identify opportunities, and implement value-driving actions.
  • Strong analytical, quantitative, and attention-to-detail skills required.
  • Strong project management, change leadership, and influencing skills across multiple organizational levels required.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills required.
  • A strong sense of urgency and adaptability to changing priorities required.
  • A strong understanding of end-to-end supply chain interactions and interdependencies required.
  • A strong knowledge of planning systems, parameters, net requirements, and supply chain process integration required.
  • MRP, APS, and/or ERP experience required; comprehensive MRP knowledge expected.
  • Blue Yonder, ESP, JDE, SAP, Microsoft Access, and/or SQL proficiency strongly preferred.
  • Experience using AI-enabled productivity and analytics tools to automate analysis, summarize insights, evaluate scenarios, and improve decision quality strongly preferred.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency required.
  • APICS certification is preferred.

Additional Position Requirements

  • Travel: up to 15% Occasional weekend/travel work may be required as necessary.

Responsibility for Others

  • This position reports to the EP Global Planning Sr Manager.
  • This position may be responsible for supervising analysts, temporary employees, and other subordinate staff.
