Job Summary
You will embody and uphold our mission by meticulously overseeing and ensuring the preparation, distribution, and storage of all foods, strictly adhering to departmental policies and procedures, and maintaining the highest standards of safety and sanitation across all operations.
Responsibilities
- Plan and prepare regular and modified menus, including special events, following standardized recipes, portioning, and presentation guidelines.
- Maintain inventory, assist in catering production, and ensure cleanliness of equipment and work areas.
- Manage regulatory standards and deliver quality culinary experiences.
- Administer culinary and nutrition services, and meet operational needs of staff members.
- Create and enforce patient and retail service standards, and conduct sanitation and performance audits.
- Identify learning needs and opportunities for staff, and direct processes related to training.
- Maintain regulatory compliance and infection control practices, and communicate with staff and customers about services received.
- Conduct frequent patient rounding and visitations, ensuring regulatory standards are encompassed in nutrition programs, and coordinate standards with other departments.
- Maintain adequate staffing for daily needs, reflecting cost efficiency, and assign staff and workload.
- Recruit, hire, and manage performance of staff, and conduct job shadowing audits to assess training programs.
- Collaborate in menu development for patient, cafeteria, and catering services, prioritizing culinary excellence, innovation, sustainability, and reducing food waste.
- Participate in hospital committees as indicated by department policies and procedures, and oversee and plan menus for special events and catering.
Requirements
- High School Graduate upon hire
- 2 years of leadership experience, or 3 years of equivalent combination of culinary education and culinary experience
- Registered Dietitian (RD) - within 24 months of hire
- Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) - within 24 months of hire
- ServSafe Manager - upon hire
- ServSafe General Cert - within 60 days of hire
