About the role
The Manager of Food and Nutrition Services oversees the department responsible for providing quality food service and nutritional care to patients, employees, and guests at Straub Benioff Medical Center. This position is responsible for planning, organizing, developing, and managing the overall operation of the department.
Responsibilities
- Establish policies and procedures to provide administrative direction for cafeteria menu information, food preparation, distribution and service, budgeting, purchasing, sanitation standards, safety practices, staffing and staff development.
- Plan, organize, develop, and manage the overall operation of the Food and Nutrition Services department to ensure that quality food service and nutritional care is provided to the patients, employees, and guests.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and guidelines related to food service operations.
- Oversee the preparation, distribution, and service of meals to patients, employees, and guests.
- Manage the budget and procurement process for food and supplies.
- Develop and maintain a safe and sanitary environment for food preparation and service.
- Train and supervise staff to ensure high-quality service and meet operational goals.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure effective communication and coordination of services.
- Assist in the development and implementation of nutrition education programs for patients and staff.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Food Service, Food Science, or related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Three (3) years of progressively more responsible experience managing food service programs in a health care setting.
