Job Responsibilities
- Covers all functions of the regional fleet and mobil equipment maintenance department including all shops, personnel and support equipment.
- Schedules maintenance and repairs with the Regional Operations Managers in a timely manner to ensure maximum equipment availability.
- Prioritizes needed repairs and schedules maintenance crews accordingly.
- Maintains compliance with all company and governmental agencies pertaining to operational, safety and environmental policies and procedures.
- Retains all required records and documentation for same.
- Researches, analyzes, and recommends more cost-effective methods for the repair and maintenance process.
- Keeps abreast of all technical developments to maintain and improve knowledge and skills needed for superior job performance and to improve operational efficiencies.
Qualifications
- A High School Degree or its equivalent is required.
- A Bachelor's degree or its equivalent is preferred.
- 5-7 years of experience in fleet and mobil equipment repair and maintenance is desirable.
- 2-4 years of supervisory experience is required.
- Knowledge of ready mix concrete trucks and associated mobil equipment maintenance.
- Basic knowledge of preventive maintenance procedures and costing techniques.
- Basic computer skills, calculating and mathematical skills required.
- Good knowledge and application practices of the DOT rules and regulations.
- Strong interpersonal skills for staff management and dealing with vendors or sub-contractors.
- The ability to interpret reports, repair specifications and procedural manuals.
