About the role

Square is seeking a sales leader to oversee the expansion of its field sales organization. The ideal candidate will engage with existing Territory Account Executives and Sellers, demonstrating Square's mission of economic empowerment and fostering a local presence. This role involves managing a team of approximately 8 Territory Account Executives focused on selling to small to medium-sized businesses (SMBs), including restaurants, retailers, and service-based businesses in key markets.

Responsibilities

  • Build and execute a business plan outlining strategies to capture and retain market share in assigned cities
  • Data-driven decision making through consistent review of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) such as SaaS adoption rates, win rates, activations, and activities
  • Lead a high-performance sales culture emphasizing individual and team development, coaching, recognition, and accountability
  • Manage a team to meet KPIs and revenue targets, traveling to perform in-person selling alongside the team
  • Communicate and manage relationships with senior executives across various departments
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with local partners and attend/host local events to generate new business and build Square's brand awareness
  • Drive revenue against annual sales quotas

Requirements

  • Obsessed with exceeding quota, execution, ownership, and operational excellence
  • Experience in high-growth companies, preferably in a sales leadership role
  • Experience in high-transaction volume SaaS applications or financial services sales
  • Proven track record of creating a winning culture that performs at a high level
  • Extensive experience in a metrics-driven sales organization
  • Experience working with and influencing cross-functional teams and departments in a rapidly growing environment
  • Excellent interpersonal, leadership, organizational, and communication skills
  • Experience scaling and overseeing a large Field Sales team

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 8+ years of sales success, preferably in a high-growth company
  • 5+ years of leadership experience, experience leading a team of field account executives preferred

  • Ability to embrace and communicate change management
  • Ability to inspire and motivate team members
