About the role

As the Manager, Field Reimbursement Services, you will lead a team of field-based reimbursement managers and oversee the day-to-day operations of a field reimbursement program sourced to McKesson by a pharmaceutical manufacturer client. Your primary objective is to hire, develop, coach, evaluate, and lead the reimbursement team to successfully engage specialty physician offices and support the manufacturer customer. You will manage program operations, including staffing, profitability, standard operating procedures, process design, implementation, and improvements. This role ensures compliance with client SLA agreements and acts as a liaison within McKesson, representing the field-based reimbursement team to various internal stakeholders to achieve process synergy, training efficiency, and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of field-based reimbursement specialists providing in-office reimbursement and patient support services in assigned territories.
  • Handle all administrative, training, and performance management duties, including weekly 1:1 meetings, team meetings, monthly check-ins, quarterly performance surveys, and monthly QA audits of team activity.
  • Ensure effective communication and partnership between the field team and their home office counterparts, including establishing weekly meetings with the client and operations team.
  • Disseminate client direction across the remote team and lead regular team teleconferences and quarterly ride-a-longs for ongoing training and development.
  • Drive field operations efficiencies and implement innovative ideas to enhance the Field Reimbursement Program.
  • Ensure all SLA and contractual commitments are met, and the team adheres to privacy and compliance obligations.
  • Work with the Client’s Head of Reimbursement Operations to execute strategic initiatives.
  • Oversee day-to-day team activities and report results to McKesson Client Services and key client contacts.
  • Partner with the Sr. Manager to produce monthly and quarterly reports for the client.
  • Manage client expectations, provide proactive consultative services on process improvement, revenue generation, and cost-saving opportunities.
  • Assist in preparing and participating in Quarterly Business Reviews to outline opportunities for enhancement, growth, and efficiency.
  • Support FRM development by establishing development opportunities, providing ongoing training, and educational resources such as payer education, conferences, mentorships, and relevant courses.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of reimbursement experience and 2+ years of supervisory experience.
  • 4-year degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Experience supporting a Field Reimbursement Team preferred.
  • Experience managing a field-based team, with management of a field-based reimbursement team strongly preferred.
  • Proven account management/client management experience, preferably in a pharmacy or healthcare-related industry.
  • Proven experience in direct communication with pharmaceutical clients or stakeholders.

Working Conditions

  • General office demands in a remote, work-from-home setting.
  • Extensive travel required: 60-80% (3-4 days a week) via automobile or plane. Must have a valid driver's license with a clean driving record/MVR.
  • Possible long periods of sitting and/or keyboard work.

Pay

McKesson offers a competitive compensation package determined by performance, experience, skills, equity, and geographical markets. The base pay range for this position is $87,500 - $145,800. In addition to base pay, other compensation such as an annual bonus or long-term incentive opportunities may be offered.
