About the role
The Manager of Facility-Based Accounts Receivable at Lee Health leads payer-specific hospital accounts receivable operations, driving timely, accurate, and compliant reimbursement. This role provides direct leadership to Accounts Receivable Supervisors and their teams, develops strategies to improve cash collections, reduces AR days and denials, and optimizes reimbursement.
Responsibilities
- Oversee assigned payer portfolios and monitor AR performance and reimbursement trends.
- Ensure timely resolution of denied, rejected, underpaid, and unpaid claims.
- Develop strategies to improve cash collections, reduce AR days and denials, and optimize reimbursement.
- Coach and develop supervisory staff, establish performance expectations, promote accountability and employee engagement, and identify opportunities for process improvement.
- Partner closely with Revenue Cycle leadership and departments including Patient Financial Services, Patient Access, HIM, Coding, Contracting, Compliance, Clinical Services, and Information Technology to resolve issues and improve revenue cycle performance.
Requirements
- Strong hospital or healthcare revenue cycle experience.
- Expertise in facility-based AR, payer follow-up, reimbursement, and denials/appeals.
- Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, commercial, and managed care payer processes.
- Experience with AR aging, cash-flow management, and revenue cycle analytics.
- Demonstrated leadership experience managing supervisors and developing high-performing teams.
- Strong problem-solving, root-cause analysis, and process improvement skills.
- Experience using Epic work queues, reporting tools, dashboards, or similar revenue cycle technology.
- Strong understanding of payer regulations, compliance requirements, and filing deadlines.
- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Proven ability to use performance data to drive accountability, operational improvements, and financial results.
