Manager Environmental Services

About the role

The Environmental Services Manager at CHI St Alexius Health Dickinson is responsible for leading, directing, and overseeing the continuous improvement of the standard Environmental Services (EVS) operating model within the facility. This role involves managing a highly equipped and engaged Environmental Services Team, ensuring a clean and safe environment, and collaborating with various departments.

Responsibilities

• Completes performance reviews, disciplinary actions, scheduling, employee engagement survey action planning, interviewing, hiring, and retention of staff.
• Collaboration with other departments, EOC, IP/IC committees.
• Evaluates and makes recommendations for environmental hygiene maintenance for new floor coverings, wall coverings, furnishings, and interior finishes prior to purchase.
• Manages departmental budgets (e.g., capital, projects, supplies, operations).
• Ensures regulated medical waste is handled, packaged, stored, and disposed of in accordance with federal and state regulations, and maintains appropriate documentation.
• Manages necessary and required resources for the environmental services department and provides recommendations for staffing levels, products, and equipment. Completes all Human Resources responsibilities for interviewing, hiring, managing, staff development, corrective actions, and / or staff engagement needs.

Requirements

• Three (3) years experience in Environmental Services.
• One (1) year experience in a supervisory level managing and scheduling staff.

Preferred

• Bachelor's Degree.
• Certified Healthcare Environmental Services Tech.
