Manager, Engineering Operations

Roles And Responsibilities

  • Aid in coordinating department activities to optimize equipment, facilities, and personnel usage.
  • Review and analyze expenditure, financial, and operational reports to identify needs and make recommendations to the maintenance director.
  • Create and foster a safe work environment adhering to site safety regulations.
  • Afford technical guidance and assistance as needed, making decisions when guidelines are unclear.
  • Assist in managing human resources within a union environment, including interviewing applicants and approving requisitions.
  • Maintain and develop administrative and operational policies and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with administrative policies, procedures, safety rules, and government regulations.
  • Monitor employee progress against set goals.
  • Manage requisitioning, receipt, and allocation of tools, parts, and materials for the Engineer section.
  • Create labor and time estimates.
  • Ensure high-quality output to minimize rework.
  • Maintain ISO-9002 & 14001 policies and ensure ongoing compliance.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

    Basic Qualifications

    • Absolutely must pass a U.S. Government background investigation and obtain a Secret Clearance.
    • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
    • Requires a BS degree in industrial engineering or logistics management, or an equivalent combination of college credits, formalized training, or experience in a maintenance/logistics environment.
    • At least 10 years of directly related work experience in a maintenance/logistics environment, with 6 years of supervisory experience.
    • Must have completed the Basic Engineer Course or equivalent.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Strong written and oral communication skills.
    • Knowledge and experience with Marine Corps policies, regulations, and orders.
    • Proficiency in MS Project, commercial word processing, databases, spreadsheets, and statistical software applications.
    • Working knowledge and experience with Global Combat Support System (GCSS).
    • Proficiency in PowerPoint, Excel, and Access software.

    About the Role

    The Engineering Operations Manager oversees the performance of skilled technicians and mechanics, overseeing diverse activities such as installing, operating, repairing, and maintaining material handling and construction equipment, water systems, mobile power generators, fuel systems, and HVAC equipment in support of Marine Corps Prepositioning Program (MCPP) maintenance operations.

    This position is located in Jacksonville, Florida.
