Manager, Corporate Strategy

About the role

As a Manager of Corporate Strategy, you will work with CarMax leadership to help shape the company’s strategy within our Product and Operational departments. You will ensure success in those departments by identifying opportunities, developing solutions, and driving strategic initiatives that align with our long-range Strategic Plan.

Responsibilities

• Periodically lead sessions to identify potential new initiatives for development and maintain a roadmap of initiatives and tests that roll up to the long-range Strategic Plan.
• Support the development of solutions in partnership with functional experts in each area.
• Define test plans, including interdependencies, sequencing, and key performance metrics.
• Conduct test analysis to assess performance and identify opportunities for enhancement.
• Determine when initiatives are ready for market expansion.
• Maintain a communication strategy to inform executives on results from strategic initiatives and overall business performance.

Requirements

• Completion of a four-year undergraduate degree in a business or quantitative discipline with an excellent academic record; graduate degree a plus but not required.
• Four or more years of experience in an analytical role.
• Experience with strategy formulation, articulation, and implementation.
• Experience with advanced analytics and modeling preferred.
• Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint; SQL experience preferred.

Schedule

This role is based onsite at the CarMax Midtown Office (Richmond, VA) and requires working onsite 4 days per week.

Pay

Annual salary range: $102,100 – $163,400. May be eligible for bonus and equity.

Benefits

• Full-time hourly or commission/incentive-eligible associates earn up to 48 hours of sick time per year (accrued per pay period) and between 80–200 hours of vacation time per year after a 90-day waiting period, depending on years of continuous service.
• 6 paid scheduled holidays per year plus 1 floating holiday (8 hours of pay each). If an associate works on a scheduled holiday due to business need, they are eligible for Holiday Premium Pay.
• Full-time salaried associates receive paid time away with no specified limit for sick, vacation, bereavement, jury duty, holidays, and floating holiday, subject to manager approval.
