About the Role

The Program Manager of the Corporate Art Loan Program at deCordova Sculpture Park and Museum serves as the primary point of contact for all current corporate members, drives business development for prospective members, and oversees the strategic growth of the program. This role is responsible for maintaining and growing program revenue, the artist roster, and the artwork collection while fostering community impact in line with Trustees' core values. The Program Manager reports to the deCordova Director & Chief Curator and manages the Operations Lead, Artist Relations Lead, and contractor pool.

Program Goals

  • Meet or exceed annual budgeted revenue for the Corporate Art Loan Program.
  • Foster and grow a committed network of regional New England clients and artists.

Responsibilities

  • Expand client relationships through effective communication during sales and service cycles, emphasizing retention, revenue expansion, and new client acquisition.
  • Identify and follow up with potential leads, referrals, and targeted outreach (e.g., cold emailing, calling, networking) to generate new opportunities.
  • Collaborate with the Trustees Development Team to identify and solicit new clients and support opportunities to transition existing clients into The Trustees' donor base.
  • Nurture customer relationships and identify upsell opportunities.
  • Understand prospect and client needs, advise on budget and artwork selection, and resolve client issues.
  • Oversee the full artwork selection cycle, including collaborating with the Artist Relations Lead on custom digital artwork packages, presenting options to clients, and supporting decision-making.
  • Guide prospects and clients through the onboarding process, including intro calls, site visits, artwork review, and installation follow-up documentation.
  • Facilitate communication throughout the sales cycle, from renewal notifications to invoicing, artwork delivery, and installation follow-up.
  • Maintain the program website and printed collateral for client and artist prospecting and retention.
  • Collaborate with the Trustees Finance Team to manage internal reporting, client invoicing, agreements, and COI/WC paperwork.
  • Represent The Trustees and deCordova professionally in the Greater Boston corporate community.
  • Guide the work of the Artist Relations Lead and Operations Lead to ensure a smooth monthly flow of artwork rotations.
  • Participate in artwork install/deinstall processes as needed.
  • Provide special programming opportunities for corporate members at their offices and for CALP artists at deCordova.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • 5+ years of consultative sales and development experience, preferably in museums or galleries.
  • Expertise in managing a complex sales cycle from lead generation to service fulfillment.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; ability to handle confidential and sensitive information.
  • Demonstrated planning and organizational skills to manage high-volume workflows and timelines while remaining detail-oriented.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively as part of a team and work independently.
  • Familiarity with customer relationship management (CRM) tools.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe Photoshop; ability to learn Artwork Archive and Airtable.
  • Prior art handling and installation experience preferred.
  • Keen eye for art and design.
  • Agility and adaptability to organizational changes.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Access to a personal vehicle for travel to clients and meetings in Boston and other locations.
  • Ability and willingness to lift 25 pounds overhead and work on ladders/step stools during installations.
  • Occasional weekday evening and weekend hours may be required to accommodate installation schedules.
  • Current authorization to work in the United States by the first day of employment.
  • A satisfactory criminal background (CORI) check.

Pay

$35,700 - $45,900. New employees are typically placed in the range of $36,720 to $40,800 to allow for equitable starting salaries and growth.

Schedule

Part-time, exempt position (24 hours/week). Hybrid work location at deCordova Sculpture Park & Museum, Lincoln, MA.
