About the Role

We have an exciting opportunity within our Air & Space Defense Systems (ASDS) Strategic Business Unit for a Manager, Contracts. This individual contributor role supports program area directors and is ideal for a highly motivated, well-organized person who enjoys working in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment. The position reports directly to the Associate Director, Contracts and requires close collaboration with program management and cross-functional teams.

The successful candidate will provide strategic contractual guidance and partner with internal and external stakeholders to address business, contractual, and programmatic matters. This role involves developing contract strategy, negotiating agreements, and influencing outcomes to achieve program and financial objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Provide contracts management for government proposals, negotiations, contractual agreements, contract execution, and day-to-day administration.
  • Ensure sound contract management to meet customer obligations, achieve company objectives, and comply with company policies.
  • Manage contractual scope and terms to ensure work aligns with overall contract scope.
  • Develop and enhance positive customer relationships to resolve contractual matters while collaborating with Program Managers, Engineering, Finance, Supply Chain, and other functions.
  • Drive closure on contractual issues, negotiate contracts, and achieve desired business results.
  • Communicate with senior leadership on strategic matters, including contractual rights, obligations, and risk mitigation.
  • Support program execution, lead key pursuits, and collaborate with stakeholders to provide contractual guidance.
  • Develop Intellectual Property strategies and novel contracting approaches.
  • Create innovative solutions and employ strong change management and communication skills.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and a minimum of 5 years of experience.
  • Experience with U.S. Government and/or Defense-related Contracts Management/Administration.
  • Experience with contracts acquisition regulations such as the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS), or other customer supplementals.
  • Experience with acquisitions and/or proposals, including sole-source and competitive proposal activity.

Pay

The salary range for this role is $107,500 – $204,500 USD. The range is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including role, function, responsibilities, work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

A sign-on bonus is offered for this position.
