Manager Continuing Medical Education

About the role

The Manager Continuing Medical Education will oversee the development, implementation, management, and evaluation of continuing medical education (CME) programs and courses for Virginia Mason Franciscan Health (VMFH) medical staff.

Responsibilities

• Plans, manages, and evaluates work assigned to staff in accordance with applicable internal/external regulations and standards for human resource management.
• Interprets and ensures compliance with applicable internal/external legal and regulatory agreements, standards, and requirements; stays updated on changing regulatory requirements.
• Maintains standards of performance to ensure continuing accreditation status for CME programs with the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) and Washington State Medical Association (WSMA).
• Monitors and assesses current operations/services to identify opportunities and provide recommendations for performance/process improvements initiatives.
• Participates in committees and works closely with physicians to identify medical education needs by conducting and documenting “needs assessment” gap analyses.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in related field and five years of recent progressively responsible work experience in medical and/or clinical education.
• Experience in managing a clinical function requiring physician education.
