Manager, Commercial Operations

Location: Based on-site in Kansas City, MO

About the role

This individual will play a critical role within the company's Analytical Services business, serving as the commercial lead for existing customer programs and acting as a key bridge between customers, laboratory operations, project management, business development, and finance. This person will help drive customer success, improve operational efficiency, and identify opportunities for continued business growth.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the commercial lead for existing customer programs, ensuring alignment between customer expectations, contractual commitments, and laboratory execution.
• Partner with Business Development, Project Management, Laboratory Operations, and Finance to drive customer success and business growth.
• Lead demand forecasting, capacity planning, and portfolio management activities to maximize laboratory utilization and operational readiness.
• Manage commercial agreements, contract renewals, and customer communications while identifying opportunities to expand existing accounts.
• Leverage your understanding of analytical testing and laboratory operations to improve efficiency, turnaround times, and overall customer experience.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in commercial operations, program management, account management, contracting, business operations, or related functions within the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, CDMO, or CRO industry.
• Experience supporting BioAnalytics, Analytical Services, laboratory operations, analytical development, quality control, or similar scientific environments.
• Strong understanding of laboratory workflows, testing operations, capacity planning, forecasting, and operational performance metrics.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate across scientific, operational, and commercial teams in a customer-facing environment.
• Bachelor's degree in a scientific, engineering, or related discipline; advanced degree preferred.
