Manager, Clinical Lab

Position Summary

Works closely with Senior Manager to ensure company, department, and team goals are met.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Maintains production goals and deadlines (e.g. TAT, SLA)
  • Engages in future planning and scales employees and equipment
  • Gathers and monitors metrics on production deadlines, efficiency, scrap waste, and error rates
  • Monitors quality control/assurance programs and drives changes
  • Manages headcount levels and oversees team-specific lab operations
  • Oversees automation and process improvements
  • Analyzes and troubleshoots lab processing errors
  • Collaborates with supervisors in resolving non-conformance reports (NCRs)
  • Ensures departmental compliance with regulatory bodies
  • Maintains an organized, safe, and efficient work area
  • Interacts with interdepartmental teams and handles employee issues
  • Develops high-performing employees through training and challenges
  • Manages the training program for direct reports
  • Provides guidance to subordinates and recommends changes to policies
  • Manages coordination of activities within a section or department

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Biological Sciences or related field
  • Minimum of 3+ years of industry-related experience preferred
  • Current certification in California State CLS or CGMBS license (Clinical Genetics Molecular Biologist Scientist)

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

  • Exceptional multi-tasking, organizational, and communication skills
  • Excellent computer skills, including MS Excel
  • Detail-oriented and able to organize and prioritize tasks
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Independent self-starter with comfort in working in teams at all levels

Compensation & Total Rewards

This range reflects a good-faith estimate of the base pay we reasonably expect to offer at the time of hire. Final compensation will vary based on experience, qualifications, and internal equity considerations. This position is also eligible for additional compensation and benefits through Natera’s robust Total Rewards program, including:

Compensation Range: $123,400—$180,000 USD
