Manager, Claims Workers Compensation

Overview

Amtrust Financial Services, a fast-growing commercial insurance company, seeks a Workers’ Compensation Claims Manager. This role involves working with Claim Adjusters to manage and ensure claims activities adhere to Amtrust Best Practices, developing and maintaining professional customer and broker relations, and supporting sales and marketing goals.

Responsibilities

• Develops short-range area plans and budgets to achieve company goals.
• Sets up, evaluates, and develops staff.
• Ensures staff work effectively as a team and keeps supervisors informed of case statuses.
• Maintains compliance with AmTrust policies, procedures, and controls, and consults on areas needing improvement.
• Monitors vendor relationships and manages attorney panels.
• Manages claims, ensures cost-effective and efficient outcomes, and negotiates settlements.
• Participates in legal proceedings and supports sales activities.
• Evaluates and implements company standards and internal quality control measures.
• Maintains current knowledge of relevant laws and regulations and communicates updates to staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent.
• 3+ years of progressive management experience preferred.
• Experience within Workers’ Compensation insurance industry.
• Preferred SIP certificate.
• Working knowledge of budgeting and profit/loss management.
• Experience with computerized claims management and office systems.
• Thorough knowledge of related government laws and regulations.
