Manager, Claims Services

This role is located in one of the following offices: Naperville, Illinois; Raleigh, North Carolina; or Virginia Beach, Virginia. Hybrid schedule: in-office Monday through Wednesday, with the option to work remotely Thursday and Friday.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership to assigned staff by leading organizational change, developing and empowering staff, cultivating relationships, and positioning staff to succeed in meeting both personal career goals and organizational goals.
• Build effective teams that apply diverse skills and perspectives to achieve common goals; drive engagement and create a climate where staff are motivated to perform at their best.
• Develop and implement methods and procedures for monitoring team and individual work activities to inform management of current status.
• Recommend measures to improve methods, performance, and quality of service; suggest changes in working conditions to increase efficiency.
• Evaluate employee performance and recommend or initiate promotions, transfers, and disciplinary action.
• Travel as needed to attend meetings, mediations, court hearings, etc.
• Supervise 6-8 claims adjusters.
• Conduct and/or assist in quality assurance reviews on a timely basis to ensure adherence to Best Practices.
• Perform other duties as needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of relevant claims experience or equivalent (defined as 9+ years of relevant customer service experience, including 5 years of claims experience).
• License with home state that is reciprocal.
• Relevant claims experience in commercial auto.
• 3+ years of management/leadership experience.
• Ability to understand and utilize data.
• Experience managing remote employees.
• Negotiation experience.
• Strong coverage experience.
• Experience identifying elements of fraud and recovery opportunities.
• Ability to travel.
• Experience managing employees in other locations.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States without VISA sponsorship, now or in the future.

Preferred Qualifications

• Trucking claims experience.
• Insurance designations such as AIC, ARM, or CPCU.

Pay

Annual gross salary range: $72,560 – $157,950. Total compensation includes base salary, performance-based bonus opportunities, 401(k) match, and profit-sharing.
