About the Role

Reports administratively to the Director of Interventional Services and partners with the Medical Directors of the cath lab and interventional radiology. When providing clinical care in either lab, this position will be under the technical direction of the interventional cardiologist or radiologist.

The role is responsible for the management and operational aspects of patient care delivery, equipment, supplies, professional staff development and education, support of research, and fiscal administration/accountability within the cath/IR labs. Leads the labs by example with regards to clinical excellence and acts as a liaison for supervisors, nursing/technical staff, and administration in planning, implementing, communicating, evaluating, and coordinating patient care operations aligned with Children’s Wisconsin’s mission, vision, and values.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee patient care delivery, equipment, and supplies in the cath/IR labs.
  • Support professional staff development and education.
  • Facilitate research initiatives within the labs.
  • Manage fiscal administration and accountability.
  • Lead by example in clinical excellence.
  • Act as a liaison between supervisors, nursing/technical staff, and administration.
  • Plan, implement, communicate, and evaluate patient care operations.
  • Ensure operations align with the organization’s mission, vision, and values.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a healthcare-related field (required).
  • 5+ years of pediatric cath lab or IR tech experience in a high-volume dedicated pediatric cath lab (required).
  • 2+ years of supervisory or related leadership experience (required).
  • BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider certification (American Heart Association/American Red Cross/National Safety Council) (required).

Skills

  • Analytical skills to assess the functioning of the cath lab and team.
  • Interpersonal skills to address issues proactively, promote staff excellence, and interact effectively with physicians, patients, students, and administrative departments.
  • Attention to detail to ensure patient safety.
  • Ability to provide care appropriate to the patient population as described in applicable policies and procedures.
