Position Summary

Manager III, Category is responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive and cohesive category strategy that aligns with the organization's brand objectives and delivers customer expectations. This role leads with a consumer-centric mindset and plays a critical part in driving the success of the Category, Merchandising, and Pricing (CMP) functions. This position is responsible for setting category direction, driving innovation, and delivering business results through strategic planning, competitive analysis, and effective collaboration across cross-functional teams. The Manager serves as a key thought leader, leveraging deep category expertise and trend insights to identify growth opportunities and ensure the category remains relevant, differentiated, and profitable. The role also supports the day-to-day activities of a performance-driven selling organization by ensuring category strategies are effectively executed in-market, contributing to a culture of continuous improvement and customer-first thinking.

- Manages plans to drive sales, volume and financial performance for assigned categories
- Responsible for all category budgeted goals, market share and customer metrics
- Accountable for procurement and in-stock position across omnichannel points of sale
- Provide recognition & adapt to and changing situations, providing creative solutions to achieve desired results

- Responsible for talent planning, team development and performance management

- Contribute as a subject matter expert for assigned categories
- Work cross-functionally across ADUSA and with the vendor community to leverage size and scale for improved efficiency, cost optimization, stronger partnerships, ADRM in their hubs
- Work cross functionally in their hubs to provide strategic guidance to the Private Brand development strategy to ensure alignment with category growth and profitability objectives
Planning and Execution
- Develops and executes customer-focused category plans and drives a selling culture
- Manages pricing for assigned categories and influences pricing strategy
- Manages assortment and selection for assigned categories
- Provide training, onboarding support, and contributive feedback as a leader
- Vendor negotiation and relationships
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
- 5-7 years of experience in Category Management with a strong preference in CPG or retail
- Strong business acumen with a proven track record of results and exceeding financial metrics
- Understanding of the sales cycle/process
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Ability to self-motivate, and work independently or within a team
- Ability to interact with any level within an organization
