Manager - Carrier Operations

What You’ll Do
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of Carrier Account Executives, setting clear performance objectives and tracking team KPIs.
- Build and maintain strategic carrier relationships to improve lane coverage, pricing, service reliability, and long-term engagement.
- Develop carrier acquisition and onboarding strategies that expand capacity in priority markets and lanes.
- Use market data, carrier history, and load performance to guide rate negotiations and capacity decisions.
- Monitor carrier performance, identify recurring service issues, and implement corrective actions with the Carrier and Operations teams.
- Resolve carrier-related delays, coverage gaps, and escalated load issues while protecting the customer experience.
- Improve carrier workflows and identify opportunities to automate repetitive processes through Carpool’s technology platform.
- Partner with Operations, Sales, Product, and leadership to align carrier strategy with customer demand and company growth targets.
What You Bring
- Five or more years of experience in logistics, transportation, freight brokerage, vehicle logistics, or carrier sales.
- At least three years of experience leading and developing a team responsible for measurable operating or sales results.
- Strong carrier negotiation and relationship-management skills, including experience balancing service, capacity, and cost.
- Experience using KPIs, market data, and operational reporting to evaluate performance and make decisions.
- Sound judgment under pressure and the ability to resolve transportation issues without losing sight of the customer or carrier relationship.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to coach employees and work across departments.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; a bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain, business, or a related field is preferred, or equivalent practical experience.
