Accountabilities

  • Establishing, implementing, and monitoring standardized patient billing and collection processes across assigned regions.
  • Serving as the primary resource for billing and collections expertise, providing guidance to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Identifying process improvement opportunities and implementing initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and financial outcomes.
  • Staying current on federal, state, and local regulations impacting billing, collections, and healthcare compliance activities.
  • Developing and maintaining policies and procedures to ensure accurate and timely billing and collection practices.
  • Delivering training and education to business office teams on operational procedures and best practices.
  • Conducting annual assessments of business office processes and evaluating billing system effectiveness.
  • Identifying and implementing preferred billing systems and operational solutions across facilities.
  • Supporting HIPAA compliance activities, chart audits, and regulatory reporting requirements.
  • Monitoring claims and operational processes to ensure adherence to Medicare regulations and compliance standards.
  • Assisting in remediation efforts following internal audits and compliance reviews.
  • Evaluating billing and collection systems of potential acquisition targets and preparing recommendations and assessment reports.
  • Identifying new business opportunities and supporting additional operational initiatives as needed.

Requirements

  • The ideal candidate will bring extensive healthcare revenue cycle experience, strong analytical capabilities, and exceptional stakeholder management skills.
  • Prior experience within Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) operations preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of patient billing, collections processes, HIPAA requirements, and healthcare regulatory frameworks.
  • Solid understanding of Medicare rules and reimbursement requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze operational challenges, identify solutions, and implement process improvements.
  • Strong financial acumen and ability to interpret operational and financial data.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage effectively across all organizational levels.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • High level of integrity, discretion, and ability to manage confidential information.
  • Proven ability to influence stakeholders, lead initiatives, and navigate complex situations professionally.
  • Willingness and ability to travel approximately 50% of the time.
  • Flexibility to work occasional evenings or weekends based on business needs.
