Accountabilities
- Establishing, implementing, and monitoring standardized patient billing and collection processes across assigned regions.
- Serving as the primary resource for billing and collections expertise, providing guidance to internal and external stakeholders.
- Identifying process improvement opportunities and implementing initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and financial outcomes.
- Staying current on federal, state, and local regulations impacting billing, collections, and healthcare compliance activities.
- Developing and maintaining policies and procedures to ensure accurate and timely billing and collection practices.
- Delivering training and education to business office teams on operational procedures and best practices.
- Conducting annual assessments of business office processes and evaluating billing system effectiveness.
- Identifying and implementing preferred billing systems and operational solutions across facilities.
- Supporting HIPAA compliance activities, chart audits, and regulatory reporting requirements.
- Monitoring claims and operational processes to ensure adherence to Medicare regulations and compliance standards.
- Assisting in remediation efforts following internal audits and compliance reviews.
- Evaluating billing and collection systems of potential acquisition targets and preparing recommendations and assessment reports.
- Identifying new business opportunities and supporting additional operational initiatives as needed.
Requirements
- The ideal candidate will bring extensive healthcare revenue cycle experience, strong analytical capabilities, and exceptional stakeholder management skills.
- Prior experience within Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) operations preferred.
- Strong knowledge of patient billing, collections processes, HIPAA requirements, and healthcare regulatory frameworks.
- Solid understanding of Medicare rules and reimbursement requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze operational challenges, identify solutions, and implement process improvements.
- Strong financial acumen and ability to interpret operational and financial data.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage effectively across all organizational levels.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- High level of integrity, discretion, and ability to manage confidential information.
- Proven ability to influence stakeholders, lead initiatives, and navigate complex situations professionally.
- Willingness and ability to travel approximately 50% of the time.
- Flexibility to work occasional evenings or weekends based on business needs.
