About the role

As Manager, Business Analyst, your role sits within multiple areas of the business to facilitate the generation of value from our products and services for both internal and external customers. At the core of this role is the ability to gather requirements from multiple stakeholder groups and identify opportunities to drive efficiency and value. You will create and maintain meticulous documentation, acting as a flexible, knowledgeable communicator, influencer, and facilitator. Your evidence-led approach will help develop best-of-breed solutions and services that delight customers. You will work with other levels of the BA team, taking ownership of substantial initiatives while also managing and developing a team of business analysts.

Responsibilities

  • Requirements definition & management
    • Plan and drive scoping, requirements definition, and prioritization activities for large, complex initiatives.
    • Adopt appropriate requirements definition and management methods, tools, and techniques, selecting from predictive (plan-driven) or adaptive (iterative/agile) approaches.
    • Obtain input from and formal agreement to requirements from a diverse range of stakeholders.
    • Negotiate with stakeholders to manage competing priorities and conflicts.
    • Establish requirements baselines and ensure changes to requirements are investigated and managed.
    • Contribute to the development of organizational methods and standards.
  • Business analysis
    • Investigate operational requirements, problems, and opportunities, seeking effective business solutions through improvements in automated and non-automated components of new or changed processes.
    • Assist in analyzing stakeholder objectives, underlying issues, and identifying options for consideration.
    • Work iteratively with stakeholders to identify potential benefits and available options, and define acceptance tests.
  • User centricity analysis
    • Describe users’ goals, tasks, and the environment in which the system, product, or service will be used.
    • Facilitate both moderated and unmoderated user centricity assessments.
    • Evaluate prototypes or designs against agreed usability and accessibility expectations, interpret and present results, and prioritize issues.
    • Assist in assessing the stability of requirements against changes in use.
  • Relationship Management
    • Implement stakeholder engagement and communications plans.
    • Manage problems and issues, including resolutions, corrective actions, lessons learned, and dissemination of relevant information.
    • Collect and use feedback from customers and stakeholders to measure the effectiveness of stakeholder management.
    • Develop and enhance customer and stakeholder relationships.
    • Understand and collaborate on the analysis of user/customer needs and represent this in your work.
    • Influence customers, suppliers, and partners, and engage across all stakeholders to ensure user needs are met throughout.
    • Provide informed feedback to assess and promote understanding.
  • Business process improvement
    • Analyze and design business processes; identify alternative solutions to exploit new technologies and automation.
    • Develop graphical representations of business processes to facilitate understanding and decision-making.
    • Assess the feasibility of business process changes and recommend new approaches.
    • Implement business process improvement methods and tools at program, project, and team levels in line with agreed standards.
    • Contribute to the definition of organizational policies, standards, and guidelines for business process improvement.
  • Performance management
    • Manage individuals and groups, allocating responsibilities and/or packages of work.
    • Provide support and guidance as required, in line with individuals' abilities.
    • Delegate responsibilities appropriately and advise individuals on career paths.
    • Encourage proactive development of skills and capabilities.
    • Set performance targets and monitor progress against agreed quality and performance criteria.
    • Provide effective feedback throughout the performance management cycle to ensure optimum performance.
    • Mentor individuals, possibly within other parts of the organization.
    • Participate in formal processes such as compensation negotiations and disciplinary procedures.
    • Ensure all people-related KPIs and activities are consistently and fully achieved.
  • Carry out any other reasonable duties as requested.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in a technical discipline (Math, Science, Engineering, Computing, etc.) or a related study, or equivalent project-related experience.
  • Fluent in English.

Experience

  • Experience working in and knowledge of the life sciences sector.
  • Experience in clinical data management or programming, specifically in designing eCRFs, edit checks, and leading a study end-to-end.
  • Solid professional experience in the same or a very similar role.
  • Understanding and experience of Agile methodologies (preferably Scrum), UML, Object-Oriented, Data Modelling using appropriate industry standards, and/or other BA methodologies.
  • Process Modelling using standards such as BPMN.
  • Knowledge of and experience with Lean Six Sigma.
  • Knowledge of and experience in Root Cause Analysis.
  • Knowledge of and experience in Scope Management.
  • Line management and leadership experience.
  • Awareness of best practices within the business analysis domain and BA professional qualifications.

Pay

The annual base salary range for this role is $87,585–$125,120. This range represents the anticipated initial annual salary and will vary depending on the candidate’s experience and skills, as well as market rate adjustments.

Schedule

This role is remote-based in the US. Candidates located in the following states are preferred: AZ, CT, DE, FL, GA, IL, MA, MO, NH, NJ, NC, PA, UT, VA.
