Responsibilities
Directly manage a team of test process and frontline support engineers supporting satellite bus manufacturing via functional testing
Hire, develop, and retain top engineering talent; conduct performance reviews and support career growth
Set clear goals and priorities for the team; foster a culture of ownership, safety, and continuous improvement
Serve as an escalation point for technical issues and unblock the engineering team during daily test operations
Own the strategy and execution for functional tests in compliance with applicable standards including MIL-STD-810, SMC-S-016, and MIL-STD-1540
Partner with IT Infrastructure professionals to resolve networking and communication issues with test equipment
Establish and continuously improve functional test processes to maximize output and enable rapid transition from engineering development to rate production
Identify improvement opportunities and execute initiatives to ensure product quality, reduce lead time, and increase productivity
Enable production test autonomy by challenging requirements, simplifying work procedures, and automating actions
Participate in lean manufacturing improvement efforts and drive operational excellence initiatives
Establish and maintain calibration procedures and visual management of production tooling and equipment
Cross-functional Partnership
Represent the Integrated Satellite Testing value stream in program reviews, roadmap planning, and resource discussions with senior leadership
Qualifications
3+ years of engineering team management experience
2+ years of project management (including scope, schedule, budget, quality, risk and critical path management) experience
Experience using common electronics test equipment (oscilloscopes, power supplies, function generators, etc)
Experience in root cause analysis and troubleshooting or problem solving
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field
3+ years in a hands-on hardware testing environment (Space / Aerospace / Military / Automotive / Consumer Electronics)
2+ years hands-on experience developing and executing test plans for complex aerospace, automotive, or consumer electronics systems
1+ years working with Data Acquisition systems and data analysis of environmental testing results
Preferred Qualifications
6+ years in a Space / Aerospace / Military / Automotive hardware testing environment (functional, thermal, TVAC, HASS, acoustic) in compliance with MIL-STD-810, SMC-S-016, or MIL-STD-1540
1+ years of scripting or programming experience in at least one modern language (C++, C#, Java, Python, LabVIEW) for troubleshooting automated test scripts
Experience commissioning and troubleshooting automated test equipment
Experience in IT Infrastructure and System Administration as related to setting up automated environmental testing equipment
Experience developing production processes and associated test support equipment
Demonstrated ability to scale production rate capability
Strong verbal and written communication skills with ability to effectively communicate across multiple teams and with senior leadership
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, multitask, and remain comfortable with changing priorities
