Manager, Bakery- Production

About the Role

Aspire Bakeries is seeking a Production Manager to join our team at the Van Nuys, CA bakery. In this role, you will lead bakery production operations, drive operational excellence, and ensure production goals, food safety standards, and quality expectations are consistently achieved. This position is critical for optimizing manufacturing performance, developing production leadership teams, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Lead bakery production operations to achieve daily production, quality, and food safety objectives.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, productivity, and waste reduction.
• Manage inventory control processes and optimize raw material utilization.
• Oversee production planning and execution to support operational and business goals.
• Ensure compliance with GFSI, BRC, SQF, and customer quality requirements.
• Develop, coach, and mentor production supervisors to build a high-performing team.
• Analyze operational performance and provide recommendations that support business growth and operational excellence.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent (required).
• 10+ years of experience in the food manufacturing industry.
• 5-7 years of experience in bakery production management.
• Experience leading teams within a high-volume food manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and quality systems, including GFSI, BRC, or SQF standards.
• Proficiency with SAP and Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Ability to travel up to 10% as business needs require.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, Business, or a related field (preferred).
• Bilingual in English and Spanish (preferred).
• Experience leading continuous improvement or lean manufacturing initiatives (preferred).
• Experience supporting new product development and commercial production launches (preferred).
• Advanced analytical and operational reporting skills (preferred).

Pay

Salary Range: $95,000 - $130,000. The final determination of starting pay will vary based on factors such as location, shift, education, skill, and experience within the job or industry.
