About the role
Reporting to the VP Entertainment & Event Center Operations, the Manager, VIBE is responsible for the implementation and execution of the VIBE program within the Entertainment Department. Ensures that lights, sounds, video, and scents continuously function in alignment with the strategic initiatives of Yaamava’ Resort & Casino. Oversees training and ongoing support for VIBE initiatives while fostering a fun, exciting, and professional working environment for team members and a pleasant, entertaining experience for guests. Supports the property in all aspects of atmospheric experiences and culture, implements brand amenity programs, and ensures effective utilization of music across the property.
Responsibilities
- Manages day-to-day operations and first-line maintenance of RX Music, lighting, and activation programming systems.
- Executes music playlists, video content, and lighting systems in alignment with property branding and guest expectations.
- Directs project management and strategic visioning for all VIBE A/V projects across Yaamava’ Resort and Casino.
- Serves as project manager for all site audio/visual projects, collaborating with key stakeholders to plan, implement, and complete events on time and within budget.
- Supports the strategic direction of the Entertainment department, including operating procedures, structure, and efficiency to maximize value.
- Manages financial accounting and reconciliation for all VIBE A/V-related projects.
- Oversees the budget process and vendor bid process to ensure competitive pricing on VIBE technology and equipment.
- Manages installation, troubleshooting, and programming of A/V systems throughout the casino.
- Ensures operational areas meet or exceed brand standards by monitoring VIBE initiatives, responding to guest feedback, and adjusting systems as needed.
- Serves as a liaison between the Senior Manager and VIBE team for reporting updates, resolving escalated issues, and ensuring alignment with department goals.
- Implements brand and business initiatives while maintaining confidentiality of guest, employee, and company information.
- Performs other duties as assigned to support efficient department operations.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with organizational policies and applicable laws, including interviewing, hiring, training, planning, assigning, reviewing, and directing work.
- Evaluates and appraises performance, rewards and disciplines employees, and addresses complaints and resolves problems.
- Makes hiring decisions and designs individual development plans with succession planning for all key roles.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality, Entertainment, Engineering, Music Theory, or related field required.
- Minimum three (3) years of experience in customer service, music, and/or entertainment industry.
- Minimum three (3) years of experience in a related field, including audio/visual systems, lighting, or entertainment programming preferred.
- Minimum three (3) years of supervisory experience required.
- Related, relevant, and/or direct experience may be considered in lieu of minimum educational requirements.
Skills
- Strong leadership and team-building skills.
- Experience managing small to large audio-visual projects within a hotel, event center, convention hall, or casino environment strongly preferred.
- Ability to lead and inspire a team while maintaining high performance standards.
- Advanced technical aptitude in audio-visual technology, computers, and networking.
- Comprehensive knowledge of network hardware and software.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to ensure clarity for non-technical users and senior executives.
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to resolve conflicts in a customer-focused, professional manner.
- Capable of multitasking in a high-volume setting; flexible, agile, and fast learner.
- Prior experience with RX Music Platform.
- Prior experience designing or commissioning large entertainment facilities.
- Comprehensive understanding of entertainment technology: audio, video, and lighting.
- Prior experience within the gaming industry strongly preferred.
Licenses & Certifications
- At the discretion of the San Manuel Tribal Gaming Commission, may be required to obtain and maintain a gaming license.
- Authorized Driver: Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record as determined by the insurance carrier is required.
Physical Requirements
- Primary work environment is climate-controlled within a resort and casino setting.
- Work requires travel to attend meetings, trade shows, and conferences.
- May be required to work evening, weekend, and holiday shifts.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced, high-demand environment.
- Strength sufficient to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently; may move up to 40 pounds occasionally.
- Sedentary work: involves standing most of the time and may sit at times.
- Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery (calculator, copy machine, printer).
- Physical activities include balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions.
- Hearing sufficient to hear conversational levels in person, via videoconference, and over the telephone.
- Speech sufficient to make oneself heard and understood in person, in front of groups, in meetings, via videoconference, and over the telephone.
