About the role
Rexel USA is one of the largest distributors of electrical products, data communication, wireless communication and related supplies in the United States. The Manager Area Operations & Safety will oversee the operations of multiple branches within a defined geographic area, including daily branch activity, logistics, safety, profit and loss management, resource management, process adherence, and identifying improvement opportunities.
Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day operational activities for multiple branch locations within a defined area
- Collaborate with branch managers to establish and maintain operational budgets
- Develop and recommend short- and long-term objectives for branch operations and office administration
- Implement business strategies and company/department procedures
- Review and audit reports such as direct billing edit reports, customer credits, customer invoices, and vendor credit listings to ensure accuracy and appropriate actions
- Authorize customer credits, assign reason codes, and determine whether returned goods should be added to inventory
- Investigate and resolve pricing problems, discrepancies, and exception invoicing procedures
- Communicate with buyers to resolve past-due credit issues
- Oversee facilities maintenance, including landlord communications and office equipment upkeep
- Manage office supply inventory
- Participate in committees and task forces to improve business processes and explore alternatives to existing methods
- Organize and oversee year-end inventory
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- 4+ years of operational experience
- High School diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree preferred
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Knowledge of the electrical distribution industry, including current market, customers, suppliers, and competitors
- Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal, and presentation skills
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
- Strong organization and time management skills; detail-oriented with ability to prioritize in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
