TMI is seeking a professional, skilled individual for the Manager Applied Airside position in our branch operations group at our Chesterfield, Missouri facility.
About the Role
Manage and develop the Applied Airside Commercial group, including establishing and monitoring performance metrics, overseeing inventory management, driving software development and process improvements, and ensuring alignment with business objectives. Provide leadership, coaching, and development to team members while identifying opportunities to improve operational efficiency, customer service, and overall business performance.
Responsibilities
- Manage, develop, and maintain the Applied Commercial Inside Engineer team, providing leadership, coaching, and performance management.
- Assign and direct work to the appropriate Applied Inside Engineer based on project requirements, workload, and individual expertise.
- Establish, monitor, and improve team performance metrics to support business objectives and operational efficiency.
- Facilitate training and ongoing development of Applied Commercial Inside Engineers to strengthen technical, commercial, and software capabilities.
- Develop and maintain effective processes for Applied Commercial project support, estimating, selection, and customer service.
- Become a subject matter expert in Applied commercial selection software and ensure the team is effectively trained in its use.
- Oversee inventory management and identify opportunities to improve inventory utilization and availability.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to support software development, process improvements, and overall business initiatives.
- Support estimating and sales activities, including technical guidance, equipment selection, and commercial strategy.
- Identify opportunities to improve team productivity, accuracy, customer service, and overall Applied Airside business performance.
- Ensure work is aligned with the Director’s expectations, goals, and vision.
- Accountable for implementation of policies, processes, and procedures for short-term results.
- Provide guidance and training to subordinates; authority to hire, recommend pay, establish performance, and recommend for termination.
Requirements
- Minimum of 15 years of experience working in mechanical equipment design, preferably within the HVAC or commercial equipment industry.
- Demonstrated experience in estimating and sales.
- Previous leadership, supervisory, or team management experience preferred.
- Experience with commercial equipment selection software preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited university preferred.
- Must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without employer sponsorship now or in the future.
