About the role

We are seeking an experienced Manager of Application Development & Support to lead and oversee strategic initiatives impacting enterprise software applications, development teams, internal customers, and third-party providers. This role is critical for enhancing, remediating, transforming, modernizing, and supporting application systems across diverse technologies. You will collaborate with solution architects, technical leads, security, infrastructure, and other teams to drive successful delivery in a fast-paced environment. The position requires hands-on leadership, close partnership with multiple technology teams, and strong stakeholder communication to resolve issues and ensure project success.

This role is accountable for ensuring application solutions are designed, deployed, and operated on secure, scalable, and resilient infrastructure platforms, with alignment to infrastructure, cloud, and security teams for optimal performance, availability, disaster recovery, and compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Infrastructure, Cloud, and Security teams to design and implement scalable, highly available, and resilient platforms.
  • Ensure applications are designed with infrastructure considerations, including capacity planning, performance tuning, failover, and recovery.
  • Drive adoption of cloud-native architectures, containerization, and platform engineering practices where applicable.
  • Oversee environment strategy (DEV, QA, UAT, PROD) to ensure consistency, automation, and governance across environments.
  • Ensure observability (monitoring, logging, alerting) is in place for proactive issue detection and performance management.
  • Collaborate on disaster recovery (DR) and business continuity strategies, including testing and validation of recovery objectives (RTO/RPO).
  • Ensure infrastructure security standards, patching, and vulnerability remediation are incorporated into the application lifecycle.
  • Support infrastructure cost optimization through efficient resource utilization and architectural decisions.
  • Partner with leadership to drive innovation by understanding business needs and evolving technologies as part of the Technology Delivery Management Team, helping define and implement technology strategies, capital plans, and roadmaps.
  • Provide technical leadership to a team of developers, guiding technical decisions to meet business needs and setting team priorities based on tactical and strategic objectives.
  • Define, implement, and promote processes, best practices, and standards for application development and deployment, including service-oriented architecture, reusable code, web usability, branding, security controls, and Agile methodologies.
  • Work closely with other technology departments to understand business demands and identify opportunities for solutions and continued innovation aligned with business needs.
  • Manage budget preparation, yearly forecasts, capital request facilitation, and future resource needs assessment.
  • Oversee all management tasks for the team, including work prioritization, career development, and training needs.
  • Manage all aspects of application development and support, ensuring application performance, stability, end-to-end transactional flows, root cause analysis, and corrective actions for outages.
  • Coach and counsel employees on performance, set performance standards, recommend pay actions, and handle other HR-related responsibilities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Management, Engineering, or a related field. A Master’s degree (MBA preferred) is a plus.
  • Minimum of seven years of progressively responsible experience in Application Development and IT Project Management.

Qualifications

  • Intermediate knowledge of the full software development life cycle.
  • Extensive technical and professional knowledge at an expert level.
  • Intermediate awareness of programming standards and protocols.
  • Advanced knowledge of program coding techniques, file access methods, testing techniques, and documentation methods.
  • Intermediate knowledge of architecture and infrastructure required to support various applications and technologies.

Pay

Salaried position with a pay range of $125,000.00 to $135,000.00. The position may also be eligible for an annual bonus, commission, and/or long-term incentive plan based on level and/or type.
