Manager - Anti-Money Laundering - Financial Crime and Fraud
About the role
As an AML Manager, you will help clients mitigate risks related to money laundering, terrorist financing, and sanctions violations, while improving their ability to meet regulatory requirements. This role involves designing, implementing, and monitoring AML and sanctions compliance programs, assessing risks, and conducting compliance assessments. The assignment is estimated to be multi-month with the opportunity for extension.
You will collaborate with Deloitte’s global network of member firms, working on diverse engagements that may include leading teams, drafting policies, delivering training, and performing transaction monitoring and investigations.
Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor professional teams on AML and sanctions compliance projects.
- Design, review, enhance, implement, and monitor AML and sanctions compliance programs for global clients subject to U.S. AML and sanctions requirements.
- Assess AML and sanctions risks at the enterprise and business unit level.
- Draft and enhance policies, procedures, and training modules.
- Conduct compliance assessments, transaction monitoring "look backs," KYC remediations, internal controls assessments, and internal investigations.
- Provide guidance on AML/OFAC regulations to business stakeholders across the three lines of defense.
- Submit written and oral reports to senior management and clients.
- Manage and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Qualifications
- Minimum 6+ years of experience in AML and/or sanctions-focused activities in the private or public sector, including project management.
- Subject matter expertise in AML/sanctions regulations as they apply to financial institutions (e.g., retail, wholesale, and international banks, broker-dealers, mutual funds, and insurance companies).
- Proficiency in developing AML/OFAC compliance policies and procedures.
- Experience using AML monitoring systems and related software.
- Ability to manage a team of AML/OFAC compliance practitioners.
- Strong analytical, investigative, and organizational skills.
- Proven ability to prioritize workload, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Law, Criminal Justice, or a related field.

Pay
A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role is $122,000 to $240,500, depending on skill sets, experience, training, licensure, certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
Schedule
- Ability to travel 75%, on average, based on client needs and industry sectors served.
