About the Role

Join our Deloitte Regulatory, Risk & Forensic team and help client leaders translate multifaceted risk and an evolving regulatory environment into defensible actions that strengthen, protect, and transform their organization. As an AML Senior Manager, you will assist clients in mitigating risks related to money laundering, terrorist financing, and sanctions violations, while improving their ability to meet regulatory requirements and expectations. This role is estimated to be a multi-month assignment with the opportunity for extension.

In this diverse role, you'll collaborate with our worldwide network of member firms and engage in a variety of projects.

Responsibilities

  • Provide regulatory, operational, and technology insights on financial crime-related topics (e.g., AML/KYC and Sanctions Compliance).
  • Analyze and optimize Financial Crime Compliance processes, systems, and technology.
  • Develop and implement corrective action plans for issue resolution and provide guidance on avoiding similar situations in the future.
  • Stay abreast of regulatory developments and evolving best practices in financial crimes compliance.
  • Prepare and present clear, concise presentations, reports, and proposals to senior leaders at clients and within Deloitte.
  • Lead, plan, and manage projects, including writing proposals, defining scope, overseeing fieldwork, and preparing deliverables to ensure high-quality integrated service on time.
  • Lead and mentor professional teams on projects.
  • Develop and coach team members.
  • Assess AML and sanctions risks at the enterprise and business unit level.
  • Oversee large-scale programs, including transaction monitoring "look backs," KYC remediations, internal controls assessments, internal investigations, and independent testing.

Requirements

  • Minimum 10+ years of experience in private or public sector AML and/or sanctions-focused activities, including project management experience.
  • Significant experience in managing a team of professional AML/OFAC compliance practitioners.
  • Subject matter expertise in AML/sanctions regulations as they apply to financial institutions, including retail, wholesale, and international banks, broker-dealers, mutual funds, and insurance companies.
  • Ability to develop AML/KYC/Sanctions compliance policies and procedures and review relevant policy and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to provide advice regarding applicable AML/KYC/Sanctions regulations and requirements across the three lines of defense on regulatory, transactional, and documentation issues.
  • Expert in using AML Monitoring systems and related software.
  • Experience building strong relationships at all levels of a business.
  • Experience submitting written and oral reports to senior management and clients.
  • Strong analytical and investigative skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Proven experience effectively prioritizing workload, managing multiple priorities, and quickly adapting to meet deadlines and work objectives.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, team environment.
  • Willingness to travel 75%, on average, based on work, clients, and industries/sectors served.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Law, Criminal Justice, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications

  • AML Consulting Experience.
  • Certified Anti Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS), CFE, or equivalent.
  • Regulatory experience.
  • Ability to speak multiple languages.

Pay

The wage range for this role takes into account factors such as skill sets, experience, training, licensure, certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for geographic differentials. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $155,600 to $306,800.
