About the Role
This position is a 100% onsite opportunity within the Medical ICU at the University of Chicago Medicine in Chicago-Hyde Park. The Advanced Practice Service Manager supervises other advanced practice providers and collaborates with the leadership team.
Responsibilities
- Serves on various Hospital and University committees
- Manages departmental clinical and administrative operations
- Interviews, selects, hires, and trains staff
- Develops and implements orientation plans for new providers
- Identifies and addresses educational needs of staff
- Develops and implements clinical and educational programs
- Performs direct patient care and initiates visit charges
- Monitors and reports on clinical productivity
- Assures proper application of billing codes
- Regularly presents quality improvement findings
Requirements
- Graduate degree in nursing with adult care focus
- Graduate from a formal nurse practitioner program
- Specialty certification as an advanced practice provider
- Completion of AHA Advanced Cardiac Life Support course
- Licensed RN in Illinois
- Minimum 3-5 years of clinical experience as an advanced practice provider
- Minimum 3-5 years of supervisory experience
