Manager, Account Consultant (Remote)

Purpose
The Account Consultant Manager leads a team of Account Consultants responsible for driving retention, growth, and client satisfaction within the Mid-Size market segment (100-999 employees).
Essential Functions
- Team Leadership & Performance Management
- Lead, develop, and coach a team of Account Consultants to achieve sales, retention, and customer satisfaction goals.
- Provide ongoing performance management, mentoring, and professional development opportunities.
- Establish and monitor key performance metrics to drive individual and team success.
- Foster a collaborative, customer-focused culture that promotes accountability and high performance.
- Sales & Account Management
- Develop and execute account strategies aligned with organizational objectives and market growth initiatives.
- Partner with brokers, consultants, and internal stakeholders to maximize client retention and identify new business opportunities.
- Support the sales and service activities necessary to ensure effective account management, implementation, and ongoing client support.
- Collaborate with clients to establish account goals and strategic business plans.
- Client Relationship Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, brokers, and key decision-makers.
- Conduct regular business reviews to evaluate performance, identify opportunities, and recommend solutions that support client objectives.
- Serve as an escalation point for complex account issues and ensure timely resolution.
- Support the development and implementation of long-term customer relationship strategies.
- Financial & Operational Management
- Forecast, budget, and monitor account revenue, profitability, and costs within assigned portfolios.
- Analyze business performance and market trends to identify opportunities for growth and retention.
- Ensure compliance with organizational policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
- Education Level: Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance or related field OR in lieu of a Bachelor's degree, an additional 4 years of relevant work experience is required in addition to the required work experience.
- Licenses/Certifications: Active Health and Life License is required.
- Experience: 5 years sales experience. 1 year supervisory experience or demonstrated progressive leadership experience.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience in healthcare sales, account management, or health insurance. Experience working with brokers, consultants, and employer groups. Proven success leading teams in a client-focused, sales-driven environment.
- Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities: Strong leadership, coaching, and team development skills. Excellent presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills. Proven ability to influence and build relationships with clients, brokers, and internal stakeholders. Strong negotiation, problem-solving, and strategic planning capabilities. Ability to analyze data and leverage insights to drive business decisions and achieve results. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Working knowledge of CRM platforms, Salesforce, and other client relationship management tools. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high level of customer service and professionalism.
- Travel Requirements: Estimated Amount: 50-60%. This position is expected to travel with their team to see clients and prospective clients.
Salary Range
$112,000 - $189,000
