About the role
The Account Manager is responsible for strategic account leadership, business development, and long-term client relationship management for a designated U.S. nuclear utility or nuclear program customer.
Responsibilities
- Own the overall account strategy for the assigned U.S. nuclear customer, including short- and long-term growth objectives.
- Act as the primary point of contact for senior client stakeholders, fostering trusted relationships at the executive, program, and commercial levels.
- Maintain deep understanding of the client’s nuclear fleet strategy, capital programs, outage cycles, regulatory drivers, and procurement models.
- Represent the company consistently and credibly in all client engagements, reinforcing nuclear safety culture and delivery capability.
- Identify, qualify, and advance new business opportunities within the assigned account, including construction, EPC, alliance/JV, unit modifications, and maintenance-related scopes.
- Lead opportunity capture planning in coordination with estimating, operations, engineering, and executive leadership.
- Support development of proposals, RFQs, and presentations, ensuring alignment with client expectations and internal governance requirements.
- Maintain a clear and accurate account-level opportunity pipeline, including forecasting, win probability, and resource implications.
- Provide account-level input into commercial strategies, delivery models, and risk allocation for U.S. nuclear work.
- Support or participate in contract negotiations, working in close coordination with Legal, Finance, and executive leadership.
- Maintain continuity between pre-award commitments and post-award execution, supporting smooth handoff to project teams.
- Serve as the conduit between client leadership and internal project and functional teams, ensuring clarity and alignment.
- Collaborate with Project Directors and Operations leaders to support execution performance and client satisfaction.
- Participate in internal governance reviews, executive updates, and account performance discussions.
- Promote lessons learned and continuous improvement in account management and client engagement practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or related field.
- 8–12+ years of experience in account management, business development, or commercial leadership within a nuclear environment.
- Experience working with Southeastern Nuclear Utilities in a business development or similar client relationship role.
- Demonstrated experience managing long-term, high-value client relationships in the U.S. nuclear market.
- Strong understanding of U.S. nuclear construction and services delivery, including NRC-regulated environments.
- Proven ability to work effectively in a matrixed EPC or JV-based organization.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and executive engagement skills.
