Management Trainee

About the role

This is an entry-level training position in our Operations Management Trainee Program. The intensive 16-week program is designed to prepare you for your initial leadership or supervisory role in operations. Under the direction of a mentor, you will learn the basic principles of the transportation industry, efficient cross-dock operations, effective leadership communication, and relationship-building skills.

At the completion of the Trainee Program, relocation to another facility for your first leadership role in Operations will be required.

Responsibilities

• Complete the leadership training program requiring guided, independent study.
• Interface with appropriate Support Center and Service Center associates in the completion of various aspects of the training program daily.
• Accompany and observe an Account Manager during customer sales calls.
• Accompany drivers on local delivery routes to gain an understanding of the freight delivery process on occasion.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Transportation or Logistics, or at least two years of related work experience.
• An acceptable driving history that aligns with company standards.
• Flexibility with a readiness to relocate as needed.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills, including effective listening abilities.
• Professional demeanor and appearance at all times.
• Basic computer skills.
• Very strong work ethic to thrive in this dynamic environment.

Pay

Average annual starting pay: $50,000–$60,000 (pay may vary based on location, experience, and qualifications).
