Management Trainee

About the role

The Trainee position at Reece & Fortiline is designed to prepare individuals for roles in Inside Sales, Estimator, Branch Manager, Outside Sales, or Corporate positions. The program includes cross-training in warehouse operations, product delivery, sales, and customer relationships.

Responsibilities

• Answer multi-line telephone system
• Aid customers with inquiries and generate progress reports on training status
• Pull orders with 100% accuracy and package safely for loading on trucks
• Maintain a clean and organized warehouse and yard
• Operate various moving equipment and ensure forklifts are in good condition
• Schedule UPS shipments and make customer deliveries (non-CDL)
• Work with walk-in customers regarding orders, quotes, and job specifications
• Assist with take-offs, bid processing, and customer invoicing
• Process sales orders and purchase orders accurately into the Mincron system
• Load and unload trucks
• Proactively recommend products to customers and follow up to ensure customer satisfaction
• Communicate with vendors to ensure product shipment/delivery dates and address any changes
• Perform physical inventory counts and attend continuing education classes

Requirements

• Willingness to relocate after completion of the Trainee program
• Ability to read and interpret documents and operate equipment
• Write routine reports and correspondence, speak effectively, and write clearly
• Apply basic to intermediate math skills and use common office equipment
• Pass a background check and drug screening

Skills

• Basic to intermediate math skills
• Common sense understanding to carry out instructions
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Proficiency in Mincron and MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Safe operation of a forklift
