About the role

This is an entry-level position designed to teach branch operations through a series of work-related assignments. Trainees will gain practical hands-on field experience while learning MetroPower’s mission, vision, culture, and values. Upon successful completion of all workplace assignments, the trainee will be permanently assigned to a MetroPower office in Florida, Georgia, or Alabama.

Responsibilities

  • Behave consistently with MetroPower’s Mission and Vision, focusing on safety, policies, procedures, and operational guidelines.
  • Gain knowledge of all aspects of branch management operations, including worksite safety, waste elimination, estimating, bidding, leadership, sales, material handling, order processing, and customer service.
  • Reliable and regular attendance is required.

Requirements

  • Willingness to learn and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interact effectively with employees, customers, and vendors.
  • Quick learner with a positive attitude and willingness to assume a variety of training and supervisory opportunities.
  • Desire to work in a team-based environment and contribute immediately.
  • Valid driver’s license issued by the state of permanent assignment and a clean driving record.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil Engineering, or Construction Management (related construction experience may substitute for college education).
  • Integrity – non-negotiable.
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft Office and the Web.
  • Willingness to travel when necessary and work in outdoor environments.
  • Strong desire to be part of a dynamic and Servant Leadership-based company.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to maintain a consistent workload involving moderate manual labor.
  • Ability to carry/lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, squat, sit, and maneuver in confined spaces.
  • Ability to wear respirators in environments containing silica dust and other hazardous materials.
  • Ability to maintain workloads that may include interstate and intrastate travel and daily timeframes exceeding typical business hours.
